On October 12, 2013 from 5:30 – 9:30pm, The Duncan McClellan Gallery will proudly present, From Stem to Stern, an exhibit & glass demo featuring Rob Stern and Susan Rankin.

Rob Stern’s aesthetic resides at the crossroads where man and nature intersect. Between seemingly random organic patterns and angular hewn planes he creates a space that is continuously changing with light and time; where glass is a lens that capturing this space.

Susan Rankin finds inspiration in the sensuality of classical vase forms, using the tight waist and broad shoulders of some of her vases to express her love of traditional proportion.  Rankin is also enthralled with the history of glass and pays homage to this history by incorporating exuberantly contemporary florals with a classical twist into her work today. Susan also creates large “Column” sculptures, inspired “by the garden and for the garden”.
