The first inaugural Jazz Art Festival 2016 will be taking place in Midtown St. Petersburg, FL the weekend of October 7-9, 2016. The goal of the festival is to bring attention to the many localjazz musicians and visual artists who have dedicated their lives to their crafts.

Jazz music and art will be featured all weekend long, with concerts taking place at Duncan McClellan Art Gallery, located at 3242 Emerson Ave S, Creole Cafe, located at 901 22nd Street S, and Dr, Carter G. Woodson Museum, located at 2240 9th Avenue S. Special performances will include John Lamb, Jeremy Carter, Shaun Brown, Henry Ashwood, Jr, and many more. Art galleries will be open Saturday, October 8th, as part of the regularly scheduled St. Petersburg Art Walk, as well as select locations being open on Sunday, October 9th, for the festival

A VIP guest reception will be held Friday, October 7th, at Duncan McClellan Art Gallery from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday will feature an
energizing jazz brunch set at Creole Cafe beginning at 11 a.m.img_2013

Standard admission tickets are $25.00 per day. VIP Tickets are $125.00, which includes full 3 day event admission, food and drinks at the VIP reception, and brunch on Sunday. To purchase tickets and view full event details, visit www.JazzArtFestival.com.

Expected to attend are special guests Sharon Preston-Folta, Louie Armstrong’s daughter; Sarah Cooper, the late Buster Cooper’s wife; Pam
Hunter, the late Stan Hunter’s wife; and Al Downing’s daughters Dierdre Downing-Jackson and Evelyn Downing Hamilton. A tribute will be made to these jazz greats survived by their families.

We anticipate this event will be fun for the entire family and community. Part of the proceeds will be donated to local nonprofits to support the continuation of growth in music and art in St. Petersburg.
