Duncan McClellan is pleased to announce Distant Visions II: In Celebration of Glass. Curated in part by Mary Childs, of Childs Art Studio from Great Barrington, Massachusetts, Distant Visions II reprises last year’s successful collaboration. The exhibition emphasizes the flexibility the medium offers to those inspired by its color, transparency and plasticity. The group of internationally recognized artists employ a variety of processes and bring their unique points of view to this compelling overview. Featured artists include Latchezar Boyadjiev, Robin Grebe, Dorothy Hafner, Noel Hart, Gabriele Küstner, David Patchen, Doug Randall, Martin Rosol and Peter Wright. Also on exhibition will be the works of Fritz Dreisbach, recognized as one of the pioneers of the American Studio Glass Movement.

“This is an exciting time for the gallery”, says McClellan, “Exhibiting artists of this stature and hosting masters like Fritz in our new hot shop again points to the prominence this area is obtaining in the world of glass”. Fritz Dreisbach, a master in the field, will be demonstrating his craft at the grand opening celebration of St. Pete Hot Glass Workshop. The newly constructed hot shop, adjacent to the gallery, will bring other glass superstars to the area allowing the public the opportunity to learn about the medium from those who made it what it is today.
